What Hugs Across America Does:

Across America Inc. is a nondenominational, not for profit
charitable organization providing teddy bears, curricular
materials, and messages of care to lessen the fear and anxiety
experienced by children in crisis. "Hugs" has created a national
network of regional response centers, or chapters, thoughout the
country. Each chapter is responsible to its local area with
"teddies at the ready" responding to circumstances of personal
tragedy, as well as natural or national disasters. |

Mission Statement
In this often troubled and troubling world,
it is our mission to bring comfort to children in crisis through the hugs
of teddy bears and messages of loving care.

children, Hugs Across America Inc., has provided over 300,000 teddy bears

Waukegan, IL Chapter
December 2008 ~ We have just collected our first
donation of bears from Staffing Now, Inc from Chicago. Many thanks
to La Toya and her staff for collecting these bears. The bears will
be donated to the children on the Pediatric Unit at Vista Medical Center
in Waukegan.
The above bears were delivered to Vista Medical Center for the Christmas
2008 Holiday to the Pediatric Unit.
